About the Editors:

We have been married since 2003.  We live outside Annapolis, Maryland with our two sons, Ethan and Jackson (“Jax”). We are alumni of Salisbury University on Maryland’s eastern shore.

Nicole handles the day-to-day challenges of raising two boys.  She has a social work degree and works as a public interest lobbyist.  Nicole has a passion for baking, sweets, and-you guessed it-cupcakes!

Michael is an attorney practicing in Baltimore, Maryland.  Cooking has been a hobby for Michael since he was very young.  Although he has varied interests, he focuses on traditional Maryland dishes and outdoor cooking.

About Steak & Cupcakes:

We find we are at our happiest working together in the kitchen, whether tossing together a quick weeknight meal, entertaining multiple guests for a Sunday dinner or a ballgame, or whipping up a mountain of irresistible cupcakes.  Although our styles differ in some respects, we value similar characteristics in a recipe.  We appreciate recipes that combine a few simple, high-quality ingredients to achieve exceptional results.  We do not like to cut corners, but we are constantly on the lookout for a smarter way to do things that reduces the time or effort requires without sacrificing results.

In this blog, we will share the recipes and techniques we have developed over the years.  We will try recipes from magazines and cookbooks and report on the results.  We will also review cooking gadgets.  We are always looking for comments and suggestions from readers, so please leave your input in the comment section!
